Where can I find VVT bike boxes?
As of July 2025, VVT bike boxes are available in Tyrol at the following locations: in Sölden at the Postparkplatz (Dorfstrasse 76, in front of MiniM), at Ötztal-Bahnhof station (south and north entrance), in Lienz, Matrei and Jenbach, as well as in Innsbruck at the Hallenbad Olympisches Dorf.
The aim of all project partners (ÖBB, VVT and municipalities) is to provide VVT bike boxes at important public transport hubs throughout Tyrol in the medium term. -
How are the bike boxes equipped?
The lower boxes are equipped with hooks for hanging clothing or a bicycle helmet and, in some cases, with a power connection. You can see on the booking page whether your desired box has a power connection.
The upper boxes are operated using a guide rail, making it easy to store the bicycle in the box. E-bikes can also be stored in the bike boxes. If they weigh more than 28 kg, they should be stored in the lower boxes due to their weight. Bicycles weighing up to 18 kg can be comfortably pushed into the upper box. Heavier bicycles weighing up to 28 kg require more force. -
